Hello! I’m Emma, a Doctor of Acupuncture and practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

I am deeply inspired by the magic and beauty of this ancient medicine, and I bring these principles into every treatment I provide.

My journey in healthcare began with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, sparked by a lifelong curiosity about the intricacies of the human body. After experiencing the healing effects of acupuncture firsthand, I became fascinated with TCM and pursued specialized training at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC, where I graduated summa cum laude in 2016. Following registration with the CTCMA in BC, I was fortunate to complete a year-long apprenticeship with Dr. Reuven Freesman, DTCM.

In the past 8 years, my practice has evolved as my training has led to a focus on all areas of women’s health. In an area where I feel there is lack of support, I am honoured to offer treatment for conditions such as PMS/PMDD, fertility, PCOS, hormonal imbalances, peri/menopausal issues, painful/irregular menstruation and pre/post natal care. I have completed comprehensive training in fertility acupuncture under the guidance of Jane Lyttleton, as well as specialized training in pregnancy, labor, and postpartum acupuncture with Dr. Debra Betts. I am committed to ongoing professional development to ensure that my clients receive the highest standard of care.

Furthermore, I’ve pursued specialized training in Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture with Dr. Martha Lucas, allowing me to offer a natural, holistic approach to skin rejuvenation and facial health.

I also have a clinical focus in mental health, treating stress, anxiety, and depression, with additional training in trauma and PTSD specifically. Using various modalities, including acupuncture, fire cupping, auricular therapy, gua sha, nutritional therapy, and lifestyle advice based on TCM theory, I have found profound healing and wonderful results in treating these focuses.

As an advocate for holistic wellness, I encourage my patients to embrace a balanced lifestyle that encompasses physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. I create personalized treatment plans, addressing the root cause of imbalance rather than only treating symptoms for lasting health improvements.

I am thrilled to bring my patient-centred practice to Elevate Functional Health, and I look forward to joining you on your healing journey.

Hello! As a certified Personal Trainer, Yoga Teacher and Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) I practice trauma-informed personal training. My work sits at the intersection of movement, justice, and care.

I help people overcome systemic barriers to fitness and health by creating a holistic, accessible, and sustainable approach to movement. That means moving away from colonial, industrialized, and shame-based models of “health” and toward practices that actually support real bodies, real lives, and real nervous systems.

My approach is:

• Anti-oppressive

• Trauma-aware

• Trans- and queer-affirming

• Adaptable to different bodies, abilities, and brains

I believe movement should support autonomy, dignity, and well-being, and not punish bodies or reinforce harm.

All bodies. All brains. All identities. Welcome.

If you’re looking for a way to move that feels respectful, effective, and aligned with your values, I’d love to connect.

Hello! I’m Jose. I’m a registered chiropractor, but my approach to care might look a little different than what you’d expect. While the first thing that comes to mind with chiropractic is often “adjustments,” my practice is built on a different foundation: empowering you to perform the activities you love. I am a strong advocate for finding the root causes of pain rather than offering band-aid solutions. To me, movement is the best medicine, and true healing is achieved through a holistic practice that puts movement at its core. My path to chiropractic has been unconventional. I originally graduated with an honors degree in Chemical Engineering, receiving one of the largest engineering scholarships in Canada. Today, I use that same analytical, problem-solving approach to understand human biomechanics and the intricate systems of the body. My passion for movement came at a later stage after I decided to leave my engineering career and travel the world. During that time, I discovered invaluable practices like salsa dancing, yoga, and rock climbing. Establishing a consistent movement practice showed me just how vital it is for optimal health. It opened my eyes to the profound impact the mind-body connection has on our overall well-being, not just physically, but mentally and spiritually as well. That sparked a lifelong obsession with how the body moves, leading me to explore everything from dance to martial arts to strength training to running. I love experiencing firsthand how different movements affect the body, mind, and spirit. It was this deep passion that drove me to seek out a career in chiropractic. I obtained my Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, where I again graduated with honors. As a practitioner, I prefer longer sessions where we can truly focus on the underlying mechanics of your movement issues. My treatments are tailored specifically to you, blending adjustments, mobilizations, soft tissue therapies, and mindful rehabilitation so you can get back to feeling and moving your best. When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me in the mountains, in the gym, or on the dancefloor. I am incredibly excited to practice at Elevate Functional Health, with like minded individuals who share this methodology. Let’s have a conversation to see how I can help you live the life you want!
